Fire Apparatus Display & Family Block Party,
Friday, September 8 from 6:00-10:00 PM
This family friendly part of Fire School began in 1987 with impromptu fire apparatus displays. Now, from that humble beginning, the Show and Shine has grown to be the centerpiece of the family get together.
Shiny, but hard working, fire engines, ladder trucks and special duty trucks will be displayed in the northwest parking lot of the Mesa Convention Center. The free show will run from 6:00 -10:00 p.m. on Friday September 8th. Bring the whole family!!

Fire School Raffle,
Saturday, September 9 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
The non-profit Arizona State Fire Training Committee will hold a fund raising raffle at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 9th. Items donated by training committee members will be raffled to support Fire School activities. This is a fun, fast-paced raffle and everyone is welcome to attend. Ticket holders MUST be present to win. Raffle tickets may be purchased in the main lobby of the Mesa Convention Center or from any Committee member throughout the Fire School.

The Training Committee will be selling Fire School t-shirts, hats, Challenge Coins and raffle tickets to raise funds to support scholarship programs and statewide fire service training. Items for sale will be available in the lobby of the Mesa Convention Center throughout the school or may be ordered online during the registration process. Be sure to purchase these items early - before they sell out !
Presentations - 2017
Firefighter of the Year
United Fire Equipment will present the Firefighter of the Year award during the Fire School opening ceremonies. The individual recipient is honored based on heroic achievements or contributions to life safety. Further information and nomination forms may be obtained from United Fire Equipment.
Fire Investigator of the Year
The Arizona Chapter, International Association of Arson Investigators will name the individual who has been selected as a result of their exemplary skills in the field of fire investigation. Further information and nomination forms may be obtained from the Arizona Chapter of the IAAI.
Arizona Fire & Life Safety Educator of the Year
Each year the Arizona Fire and Burn Educators Association selects a Fire and Life Safety Educator of the Year. The individual awarded this honor has made significant contributions to Fire and Life Safety Education, demonstrated outstanding work as an educator, has been successful in increasing public awareness about safety issues, serves as a positive role model in their community and exhibits a commitment to excellence in their educational efforts. Arizona Fire Service Hall of Fame
The Arizona Fire Service Hall of Fame was created by the Arizona State Fire Training Committee to honor the men and women who have provided distinguished service to the Arizona fire service.
The inductees are selected from nominations received statewide, from within the fire service and beyond. Inductees to the Hall of Fame will be announced and honored during the opening ceremonies.
